Jermuk is a beautiful area, surrounded with mountains – green with trees in summer and white with snow in winter. The river running through the town with its cascade and nice bridges, the pool with the reflecting surface, as well as the waterfall not far from the town give Jermuk a special charm. You can visit the newly built St. Gayane Church close to the town.
However, what’s a real must-see is Gndevank, a 10th century monastery. Even after 11 centuries, the monastery with its fort-like walls built all around is now in a very good condition. To reach the monastery, you can either take the path from the Gndevaz village near Jermuk and climb down through the canyon, or choose the one-car dilapidated road that starts from the Vayk-Goris main road (almost where the Jermuk left turn is).
